Travel Contract Tips: Contract extensions

Is your contract ending soon? If so, have you started thinking about your next contract or will you extend your current contract? Have you thought about what’s most important for you? Do you want to see any changes if you extend? Here are a few important things to think about if you’re planning to extend your contract at your current facility.

1. First, does your facility know that you would like to extend? Have you mentioned it to your immediate supervisor? Is there an opening, and or will the facility still need your support? If you’re planning to extend, the most important thing to do is talk to your supervisor first to make sure there’s a position and a need.

2. Second, speak with your recruiter and let them know that you hope to extend and that you’ve already spoken to your immediate supervisor to confirm the need and uoh are ready to commit and sign your next contract.

3. Finally, when you speak with your recruiter be sure to let them know if you will need any time off between or during your next contract, as well any requested changes that you would like to see in your next contract period.
